The free software factory starter
One sample ticket, one workflow, one pull request. Run the ticket-to-pull-request loop on your own GitHub account and see what a software factory does before you talk to us.
What you get
- A sample ticket with acceptance criteria
- Setup steps for the agent and the workflow
- One reusable skill
- A test checklist
- The expected result, so you know it worked
What you need
Everything runs on your own accounts. Running costs go to the providers, not to us.
Merge and deploy approval stay with you. The sample contains no client code and no secrets.
How to run it
Five steps, all inside GitHub. The workflow uses Claude Code on GitHub Actions, so there is nothing to install on your machine.
- 01
Fork the sample repository
The repository link is in the email you get from the form below. Fork it into your own GitHub account or organisation. Everything runs there, under your settings and your branch protection.
- 02
Add your Claude key as a repository secret
Create an API key on your Claude plan and store it in the repository's Actions secrets. It never goes into the code.
- 03
Open the sample ticket
The repository ships with one ticket that has acceptance criteria written the way the agent expects to read them.
- 04
Move it to the start column
Moving the ticket to the start column is the trigger. Nothing else starts a run.
- 05
Watch the pull request open and the checks run
The agent opens a pull request linked to the ticket. Your checks run. You review the change and decide whether to merge.
What you should see
Four moments, in order. If your run matches these, the loop worked.

Questions
What does the starter cost?
The starter itself is free. Running it uses your own accounts: a paid Claude plan or API key and GitHub Actions minutes, both paid directly to the providers. There is no fee to us and nothing to subscribe to. The pricing pages for Anthropic and GitHub are linked under What you need.
Is it safe to run on my account?
The sample contains no client code and no secrets. It runs in your GitHub account, under a token you create and can revoke. The agent can open a pull request but cannot merge one, because your branch protection stays in charge. You can read every file before you run anything.
What if the checks fail?
That is the loop working. A failed check goes back to the agent, which reads the output, fixes the change and pushes again. If it still fails, the pull request stays open with the log attached, and a person decides what to do next. Nothing is merged on red.
Can it run on a private repository?
Yes. The workflow runs on GitHub Actions in your account, so a private repository works the same way as a public one. Private repositories draw on your Actions minutes, and the GitHub billing page linked above explains what your plan includes. Keep the repository secret for your Claude key in GitHub, never in the code.
Prefer to have it set up for you?
We build the loop inside your tools, on your repository, with your team approving every merge.
